Refrigerant is a powerful environmentally hazardous greenhouse gas and old refrigerant is a dangerous waste!
The goal of the Estonian Environmental Research Centre’s recycle centre is the environmentally safe handling of fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) and ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and to raise awareness of the issue.
From 1 January 2025, the use of unreclaimed and non-recycled refrigerants with a GWP value of >2500 for maintenance work on all refrigeration equipment is prohibited. The restrictions affect refrigerants such as R-404A, R-507A, R-422A, R-422D, etc.
Follow the law, do not buy refrigerant of unknown origin and give your refrigerant a new chance in the circular economy with the help of the Estonian Environmental Research Centre!
The profile of the EKUK recycle centre is the reception of hazardous waste under the codes 14 06 01* and 16 05 04*, their further sorting, preferably for recycling and destruction.
